Ode to the Last Piece of Chocolate
There you sit, the final square,
Quietly waiting, perfectly rare.
Everyone says, “No, you go ahead.”
Meanwhile, everyone wants you instead.
Should I share? Should I be kind?
These are serious questions for the mind.
I look left. I look right.
The chocolate sparkles in the light.
Perhaps I’ll cut it into two,
One little piece for me, one for you.
But then I remember a golden fact:
Half of chocolate is still a snack.
So here is my promise, simple and sweet:
I’ll share the next one when we meet.
But this one? Please understand—
It has already found its forever home in my hand.
Mahtab’s little thought: Sharing is caring. Unless it’s the last piece of your favourite chocolate. Then negotiations may be required.
