Dear Monday, We Need to Talk
Dear Monday, please don’t take this wrong,
But why must you arrive so strong?
Sunday leaves with one last yawn,
And suddenly—boom!—you are dawn.
You bring alarms and crowded trains,
Unread messages and meeting pains.
You say, “Get up, the weekend’s through!”
As if I asked you to.
But maybe you’re not the villain here,
Maybe we simply need more cheer.
A good breakfast, music, a smile,
Could make you less annoying for a while.
So Monday, let’s make a deal today:
I’ll show up if you behave, okay?
Bring fresh beginnings, not just stress—
And I’ll admit you’re not the worst, I guess.
Mahtab’s little thought: A new week doesn’t have to be perfect. It just needs one good beginning.
